Strongylodon macrobotrys
(blue jade, green jade, jade climber, jade vine, emerald creeper, flor-de-jade, turquois jade vine)

This vine features long cascading blue-green flowers. It comes from the rain forests of the Philippines. It is a member of the same family as peas and beans, and is closely related to the kidney bean and runner bean group. It is popular for the bright turquoise flowers on racemes, which appear several times per year. It is easy to grow, and once established it grows quickly. It can transform a sturdy fence into a beautiful, living wall. It needs a well-grounded, strong support as it will overtake nearby plants or structures.
