Artemisia mauiensis
(`ahinahina, hinahina)

`Ahinahina has silvery fine leaves and makes a good shrub or groundcover. It grows to about 3' in ideal conditions. It can be planted as an accent plant, a container plant, and is a great plant to feature on a lanai. It is drought tolerant and can be used for xeriscaping. Although endemic to high elevation slopes near Haleakala in Maui, it does well in pots and adapts well to lower elevations - even windward coastal sites. The silvery foliage make it an incredibly striking plant!
