Agathis robusta
(Queensland kauri)

This majestic tree can grow 150 feet tall in its native habitat, and is cultivated as a specimen tree in botanical gardens around the world. The branches are spirally arranged giving this conifer a full look. It is the most abundant tree in its native North Queensland. It is a useful timber species but was over harvested up until the 1980’s. It was heavily logged in the past until girth restrictions were put in place. This species is not considered threatened.
